Sermon Summary:

Bought With Price: 1 Corinthians 6:13-20 (05-06-11)
Christianity is all about grace, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; it is all about forgiveness and love. Grace is unmerited favor given by God that you don’t deserve it. Many Christians have taken this freedom for granted and live as they wish. The church in Corinth does the same; they understood that even if they continue in sin of stealing, drinking, lying, adultery, and fornication yet grace will cover it all. Paul has to challenge the believers not to continue in sin (Romans 6:1-2). How can you sin again and again and still be a Christian. You shall be known by your fruits (Matthew 7:20).Though salvation is free gift Jesus has to suffer, died and pay for it. If you are a genuine Christian you are not your own, you have been bought with price and you belongs to Christ, your body is His temple (dwelling place of God) your body is not for pleasure and leisure of this world, so honor and love God with your body, heart, soul, and mind. Live a holy life for God is holy (1 Peter 1:16). Grace is not a license to sin but a freedom to serve God in a godly way.

Greetings

Shalom!

Greeting to you in the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Dear brothers and sisters as we welcome the freshers let us be reminded with this truth that we are saved by grace and not with our works. Let us continue to share this beautiful gift of salvation to others, freely we receive and lets share it out freely to other too. The word of God says, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.” (2 Timothy 1:9).

Mathew Henry comments, “The gospel aims at our salvation: He has saved us, and we must not think much to suffer for that which we hope to be saved by. He has begun to save us, and will complete it in due time; ....(Romans 4:17). It is designed for our sanctification: And called us with a holy calling, called us to holiness. Christianity is a calling, a holy calling; it is the calling wherewith we are called, the calling to which we are called, to labour in it. Observe, all who shall be saved hereafter are sanctified now… The origin of it is the free grace and eternal purpose of God in Christ Jesus. If we had merited it, it had been hard to suffer for it; but our salvation by it is of free grace, and not according to our works, and therefore we must not think much to suffer for it. This grace is said to be given us before the world began, that is, in the purpose and designs of God from all eternity; in Christ Jesus, for all the gifts that come from God to sinful man come in and through Christ Jesus.”

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Pastor Ezekiel
